Currently, there is a big trend sweeping across the design world...painted ceilings.

I first noticed the trend in 2008, during our early renovation stages. From the moment I saw the mustard ceiling in House Beautiful (last photograph in the post), I was inspired.

I love the whimsy, the cheer of walking through our front door to be greeted with a ray of sunshine above my head each time...

I just want to say, mustard ceiling, thank you for bringing a little bit of sunshine to my house everyday.
