Love It or Not?

Today we're talking about dark, glossy kitchen cabinets....

Love them...or Not?

Source

How do you feel about this look? Would you ever consider painting your kitchen cabinets a deep glossy navy or black?

I hope everyone had a lovely weekend. I am still working away at my project...it is up in the air as to whether it will turn out or not, I have had a few hiccups this weekend. I hope to finish by Wednesday.

Today I linked up at Mingle Monday over at Life of Meg.

  1. I love it for bathrooms but I'm not sure how I feel about it for kitchens. I think in these spaces it looks great but for my own home I don't know if I would like it...

  2. I love the look of glossy black, but I don't think I would put it in my kitchen. Maybe one wall of glossy black shelves?

  3. I think that in the pictures above, they look lovely and fit in perfectly. My house (and therefore kitchen) is teeny tiny, so I need to go lighter, otherwise my kitchen would look like a closet. lol

  4. These kitchens are gorgeous but I still love the look of a white kitchen. Ya just can't beat it. I do have a black island in my white kitchen so I guess that's the best of both worlds, right?

  5. I can definitely appreciate these kitchens, but ultimately I think they're too dark for my tastes and can't help but think a few of these would look eerie at night. I wouldn't mind having a friend that had this kitchen and hosted lots of great dinner parties though!

  9. I like them...but they're not for my kitchen.

When we were at Ikea, we fell in love with the high gloss cabinets, and the deep gray color was just beautiful. But as much as I tried, I can't talk myself into anything but white.

  11. I love the look but wouldn't be able to commit to it in my own house. I could totally see doing the lowers in a dark glossy look and lightening up on top with maybe just open shelving.

  14. I'm a fan of mixed kitchens...white and black cabinets...like one on the cabinets and one on the island! These images look pretty great!

  16. All of these are simply stunning! I have seen a few of these and it's making me wish I had considered it in my kitchen...which is all white. I think it works in small spaces too!

  17. I do appreciate dark glossy cabinets, but I couldn't do it in my own house. I'll always be a fan of a classic white kitchen.

  18. luuuurrrrrve. I painted my bottom cabs black in our last house, but left the top white and open. The black "anchored" the kitchen and brought focus to the uppers. My take was not as good as these photos, but I totally love it!

  19. Hm...I'm not sure about dark colors in the kitchen, but I do have a friend who has them in their home and it works. I just don't think I'd want it in my home. All of these pictures are gorgeous though.

  21. Ohh tough because I've always wanted a large, white kitchen, filled with light, food, and laughter, but these images are tempting. I guess with the right layout and size, some rich navy cabinets would be fabulous with pops of brighter colors interspersed.
