Tell Me Tuesday(Thursday)...Bam or Slam!

Last week, we had a great debate on these feather pendants

on BAM or SLAM!

It was hilarious to read your comments!

I think Aubrey, from All Things Bright and Beautiful summed up this debate up perfectly

"I'm just laughing at all the opinions on this one...you've got a regular debate going down! Between allergies and dust and phobias..."

So after all of the debating, the practical side in most of you came through

and voted SLAM (21 to 15) !

This week, to celebrate summer, let’s bring the floral's inside…

How do you feel about floral wallpaper, Granny or Glam?

Or do you prefer a geometric print on your walls?

  1. I might be more of a geometric. I like damasks, but florals I struggle with. Unless, the flower pattern is big, like the aqua one above.

  4. Glam Glam Bam! So so pretty...what I wouldn't take just to throw myself into one of those photos. I'm definitely more of a geometric person, but those floral wallpapers are really gorgeous. And I hated hated wallpaper three years ago, but my interest is sparked recently with all of these inspiration photos.

  5. Bam!I adore the look of flowered wallpaper. I had it in my dining room and loved it for a long time. I have a damask now and love that too. I am trying to add the geometric prints to my house. It's a slow process. Even though wallpaper is pricey just doing a wall or two makes it affordable. Great post!

  6. I love geometric and floral as long as it is fresh and not too dark.

  7. Bam! If only my husband didn't think it was a slam!!

  8. BAM! On both floral and geometric. But if you forced me to choose, my vote goes to floral wallpaper. In a large scale it can look geometric, so it is kind of the best of both worlds.

  9. Gosh, I feel so negative! SLAM, on the floral wallpaper but BAM on geometric!

  10. BAM on both floral and geometric wallpaper! I prefer geometric wallpaper lately but floral wallpaper can be pretty, too!

We had floral wallpaper in our formal dining area(near our entrance)in our previous home and we get compliments from the guests to the delivery guy!

  11. If it's not overdone, definitely a BAM. You might have to put it up when your man is at work though.

  13. Great question!
    It's granny for me.
I'm not a big fan of wallpapers, period. But you can find some that are delicate & pretty.

  14. BAM for sure. though, you'd have to know what the space can handle, and keep the furnishings fresh to keep it updated. there are too many amazing options to just say "slam" . . . but you know some of them options is scary, so good judgment is a must!

BAM on geometrics, too. of course.

    i have to go read last week's opinions now . . .

  15. I'm still just giggling that you posted my ridiculous comment, but hey, I'll take a shout out from you anytime! This is a toughie...wallpaper in general is for sheezy a BAM, and I love me some florals, but I need them to be like "geometric florals" y'know??? How they get granny is when it ends up too victorian...but hey, I've been surprised before, I will probably come across a room tomorrow with uber froofy victorian floral wallpaper and be gobsmacked. Se la vie. (c:

  17. I think that when mixed with modern furnishings the can be glam... Lots of antique furniture, lace, and more flowers not so much!

I say a hugs BAM when done right!!

  18. BAM--it can be so glam when the color is more modern and the scale is larger. I'm not as much of a fan when the colors are muted or dull.

  19. Ohhh, this is kind of tricky. BAM as long as the rest of the room is modern and fresh...definite slam to dark, dingy, floral overload. 100% BAM to geometric wallpapers!

  20. GLAM! And oh-so-chic! I definitely prefer floral wallpaper to geometric designs.

  21. Wait a second, I guess I meant bam! Although I honestly thought slam was the one to choose if you liked it. As in, "it's a slam dunk!" but now I get it, and it's GLAM too!

  22. BAM and GLAM! Love floral and geometric papers.

  23. BAM and BAM on both accounts! Although saying that, it has got to be a contemporary floral print to get the BAM from me! (Does that sound kind of wrong??) :)

  24. Love them both - Bam & Bam in my book!!!

  25. Bam with a tiny bit of slam. It can turn granny or crazy in no time if you aren't careful about the furnishings you pair it with. Love the look though.

  26. I, personally, LOVE WALLPAPERS---but I know there are some major "slams" out there!
I'm actually in the process of hanging a traditional damask above white beadboard!
I'm showing it on my blog so you can see how fresh it's re-making the room!

  27. I love wallpaper! I think florals on a large scale or in a modern way are definitely a bam! I also like geometrics, just depends on where it's going which I prefer more!

    ReplyDelete
  28. LOVE...If you do it right, it can be beautiful! That's a bam for me.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I think some of the florals have been modernized and wallpaper is more aesthetically pleasing (not fussy) when just 2 or maybe 3 colors are used. Also,I believe, a big difference is the furniture picked - walls and furniture should not compete. So I say Bam!
