Summer Blog Crawl

Today, I am participating in Brittany, from Gallery No. Eight's Summer Blog Crawl.

What is a blog crawl? Brittany explained it like this, "every day for the month of July is assigned to a different person. On their assigned day, each person posts about the assigned topic (summer!). They also link to the person that posted the day before them and the person that is posting the day after them."

So today, I wanted to share a few of my favorite summer memories.

I spent two summer's, during college, as a whitewater rafting guide in Fayetteville, WV. Those two summers were two of the most memorable summer's of my life.

Growing up in the mountains of WV I quickly grew to love the outdoors. I started mountain biking when I was 16 and that grew into a love of other outdoor activities such as whitewater rafting and hiking. Fayetteville, WV is a small town of about 2600 people, it is known worldwide for its incredible whitewater rafting, rock climbing and mountain biking and I was fortunate enough to take full advantage for two summers.

I spent my summers...

Hiking in these INCREDIBLE mountains

Honestly, in my opinion summer doesn't get much better than that... playing in the sun all day and meeting amazing new people. We guided boyscout troops, church groups, college kids, wedding parties down the river, it was a blast!

I'm very fortunate to have the opportunity to visit, my parent's moved back to Fayetteville (where they grew up) a couple of years ago. They bought back and restored the home my dad family grew up in.
