What do you think, BAM or SLAM?
Sunburst Mirrors are here to stay for awhile!
They were a definite BAM!
Are you surprised, only 4 SLAMS!?
This week, I thought I would mix it up a bit, instead of an item, let's talk about a style...
How do you feel about the industrial look, are you a fan?

bam! i love the industrial style, but i do like it mixed with some frills and rustic so that it is not too sterile or cold.
ReplyDeleteBAM!!!!! Love those shower doors!!!
ReplyDeletebam! i just love the industrial mixed with other styles.
ReplyDeleteBam Bam BAMMM! I love all the looks. You can't go wrong. I think its simple, beautiful and edgy
ReplyDeleteIt's a slam for me - don't think it's a forever look!
ReplyDeleteI like the change-up...BAM for industrial style. I've always been a fan and have always been drawn to some metal elements within a room. I like how it brings some masculinity to a space but at the same time can feel cozy and rustic. I really like that kitchen with the high ceilings.
ReplyDeletehave to say slam on this one-- I don't mind a nod to it here and there, but overall not a keeper. :)
ReplyDeleteInteresting to read all the bams, though!

I love industrial elements! Especially when they're mixed with neutrals and classic elements. I agree.. they bring an element of masculinity! And if its done in the right way, its not cold at all! BAM for me!
ReplyDeleteSlam...I agree that it is pretty trendy. I just doesn't seem cozy or comfortable to me.
ReplyDeletebam!!! bam! bam!
ReplyDeleteBAM...I love it but it's not for me personally. I'd have to move, sell everything I own and start from scratch! (Not that I wouldn't love to do that but it's so not in the cards.) Love all the light fixtures...I referred one of my blog buddies to your sight for a blog design. I don't know how long your wait list is...but I have loved all of your designs. How do you feel about taking on a client whose blog was designed by someone else? Like mine?
ReplyDeleteYes ma'am, it's a BAM. I love love love little accents of the industrial look. (The light fixtures and chairs in that last photo, love.)
ReplyDeleteFun series! Bam, love a little industrial mixed in, makes a space more interesting. Just don't like an excessive amount, then it becomes predictable. Janell
ReplyDeleteI'm on the fence. I like just touches of it. I think every room looks good with one or two elements of the industrial. I don't care for the whole look for some reason. It doesn't seem warm/homey enough for me and a little sterile. From a design standpoint I can appreciate it but I need more color, patterns and soft textures.
ReplyDeleteeh..it's a slam for me. a little too masculine for my taste.
ReplyDeleteIt's a BAM for me. I like to mix mid-century, industrial and overall clean modern in our house.
ReplyDeleteIn some respects I dislike the industrial. It makes it feel cold and harsh, but when I see those mettle lamps, and that shower door ( I fell in love with it a few posts back) Like most ppl are saying I like a few touches of it here and there mixed in with classic and homey pieces. As a whole, I don't think it belongs in a home for me. To me a home is a place where you can come and find warmth and comfort, a place to relax. Industrial is not that.
ReplyDeleteI love the industrial look...definitely a BAM !! And love it mixed with other styles...like the first kitchen !

BAM! Although I do like it mixed with other styles. I am a fan of industrial lighting and seating.
ReplyDeleteI say its a BAM. Love those shower doors. I do feel though that it is a trend that will not be around forever (unless you live in a NYC loft) but fun while it lasts.
ReplyDeleteSlam. I think it is too trendy, especially since it has it all the mainstream catalogs.
ReplyDeleteI say SLAM! it always looks cold to me. I like when people work with their existing structures (like the open loft ceilings with exposed pipes) but I'm not loving all the decorative touches (though I am a sucker for casters on furniture).
ReplyDeleteI think it's kinda funny that it's being called trendy...but I must agree with the majority on I am *ALL IN* for elements of industrial, but I'm a little too frou frou for it to be an overall style for me...the examples you showed are definitely "bamming" it for me (c;
ReplyDeleteBAM! Love industrial paired with some warm elements - like steel barstools in a country kitchen. Unexpected and interesting.
ReplyDeleteBam on the Bam or Slam weekly posting too - so fun!
BAM!!
ReplyDeleteIf I didn't so NEED a backyard for my 2 large dogs and 2 young boys I would be living in a industrial chic loft!! BTW SO pinning that shower!!

BAM! Especially when it nods toward the retro industrial from the 30's or 40's. I work in an office building that was a factory during the turn of the last century through the 60's. It's a great atmosphere and visitors always impressed.
ReplyDeleteI'm going against the masses...Slam.
ReplyDeleteThe look is pretty but it just doesn't seem very practical for every day life.
Slam...it's too "cold" for me - but the way you represented it really made me think about it!!!
ReplyDeleteI've been loving the industrial look lately. I want it incorporate some pieces into my very modern home. I think it mixes well.
ReplyDeletethis is a bam for me!! always loved an industrial feel... great for a loft type space :)
ReplyDeletetake care, aimee
