Guest Post: Erin From His and Hers

Today I would like to welcome Erin from His & Hers, to the Mustard Ceiling. I stumbled upon Erin's blog a few weeks ago. I fell in love with her idea to frame the love letters she and her hubby sent while dating and her humor. I asked her to stop by today to introduce His & Hers today...Welcome, Erin!

Hey everyone! I'm Erin from His & Hers, and I'm excited to be guest posting on The Mustard Ceiling today. Thanks, Elizabeth, for inviting me! :)

To give you a little background on my blog, I'll just say that the his side of the title refers to my husband, who knows stuff about reciprocating saws, pianos, and the side effects of Lipitor. The hers side (yours truly) knows stuff about Joann Fabrics, cats, and dangling modifiers.

Pharmacist and English teacher by day, by night, we make a happy little DIY team. My blog is where I document our progress in all things home and life in probably the least serious way possible. On any given day, you might stumble upon a reference to Justin Bieber, use of the words enema and cupcake all in one post, or this photo:

We enjoy making our home more beautiful and functional, but we don't take any of this temporary stuff too seriously. :)

Speaking of making our home more beautiful and functional, though, here are some things we've accomplished since closing in February of this year:

1. We've eradicated 47 birdhouses, hung new sconces made out of applesauce jars, and built a vanity. I use the term "we" loosely for that last accomplishment. I, personally, was in charge of admiring said vanity-building, generally while sipping lemonade and singing songs from Hairspray. I'm helpful.

2. We've smashed stuff with hammers. Creating a master bedroom is our most current project, and Phase One involved getting rid of a closet and a door. We're now working on refinishing the floor and re-plastering the ceiling.

3. We've DIYed some personalized touches for our home, like love letter art, an oversized storage ottoman, and a printable that unashamedly reveals us to be the Jesus freaks that we are.

4. We've lured our children cats into compromising positions and then taken photos of them

Actually, that's neither beautiful nor functional. Scratch that from our list of accomplishments and add it instead to the list of things you probably shouldn't mention when first introducing yourself.

That said, I'd love it if you stopped by to say hello and introduce yourself. :) Thanks again, Elizabeth, for letting me crash your blog!
