Today's Roomspiration party is all about KID'S ROOMS!
The ever fun and fabulous Aubrey from All Things Bright and Beautiful is hosting so be sure to head over (after you read my post of course) and link up.
If you don't have a kid's room's to share, don't worry...make one up like I did, or just stop by to say "hi" to Aubrey. I promise you don't want to miss her blog!
In addition to Roomspiration, there is another fun party going on today that I know you'll want to check out...which is one reason I did a moodboard.
It's Moodboard Monday at Pewter + Sage. This week's inspiration... wallpaper.

I started with the Leafy Scroll wallpaper as my inspiration and the design grew from there. I knew I would have to add pink. I mean, really...do you know of any little girl who does not want pink in their bedroom?
The Leafy scroll wallpaper (#1) is only being used as a focal wall behind the bed. The remaining walls will be painted (#5) Pool Party and the trim throughout the room will be painted (#6) Snow Day.

Pool Party, Snow Day
Custom Roman shades will be designed for the space using a soft cream fabric with a pink striped grosgrain trim (#2).

Custom Bedding will also be designed using a soft gray for the duvet cover (#14), euro-shams using a gray and white stripe (#13) and a fun pink geometric (#12) pillow will finish off the bedding.
Finally, to top off the pink touches in the space...a pink geometric area rug (#3), and a bench at the foot of the bed, upholstered in a pink buffalo check print(#11).

When choosing furniture my for my imaginary kid's room, I wanted to be a little practical and use furniture that would last. Or maybe I am just loving Restoration Hardware's catalog right now and wanted to take full advantage of using it in my "imaginary room" because I can.
Either way...the bed, dresser and nightstand are from Baby&Child Restoration Hardware.

A soft gray pendant will add a modern touch offsetting some of the traditional lines of the furniture and will be sophisticated enough to keep in the space as the little girl gets older and wants to change her room.
And this pretty, modern table lamp will be on the nightstand. This I am not sure is practical for a little girl's room, but it's pretty and fun and I'm having fun, so it's a perfect way to finish the room!

Finally, to finish off my sophisticated and feminine kid's design...lighting. As you know, lighting can make or break a space and in my imaginary kid design it is no exception.

I absolutely love what you did with the Leafy Scroll wallpaper! It's perfect for a girl's bedroom and gorgeous with the shades of pink, graphic patterns, and classic furniture. Beautiful! Thanks for joining our party today!

I really like your color choices! Thanks for linking up to Roomspiration today, I'm a new follower :)
ReplyDeleteHi, Elizabeth! Thank you so much for taking the time to squeeze in Mood Board Monday, we're so glad you did!! Wowzers, this room is gorgeous!! I love the combo of the sea foam blue/green from the wallpaper and pink! You've chosen such amazing fabrics, this is something I struggle with, so its nice to watch an expert in action. Looove that furniture from RH and you are right...imaginary budget, might as well go for it:) Any girl would be super lucky to have this room!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to have to check out all these Roomspiration links, I've been seeing it around but haven't had the time. Thanks so much again for participating!!!
I thought that wallpaper would be perfect for a little girl's room or a nursery. It looks beautiful in your mood board. I love the aqua and pink color combo!
ReplyDeleteThat is such a great board. I think you have catured the sophistication and the femininity thoughout. Great mix of patterns, too.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a perfect girl's room. I love it.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you took part in MBM, Elizabeth - and we had the same "client" in mind - I love what you did with your board. And you were able to nail the paint choices, that was one area I was struggling with and such left it out. I was thinking white for the walls, but I wasn't sure what white to go with. Great great job!!
ReplyDeleteI love the inspiration room, girl!!! Thanks for linking up, it's BOMB! You have been such an awesome part of this whole party...thanks for all the time and effort, you are such a sweetie!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a pretty room Elizabeth! That must have been fun to work on a girlie board - something I have only had the privileged of doing once. I'm curious about your curtains...
ReplyDeleteI'll take that room! Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteIts just lovely!! The wallpaper is A-Mazing!! A room every little girl would love!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful room Elizabeth! What little girl wouldn't love for that to be her room!!!
