It's time for another Roomspiration-Living rooms, hosted by Kelly at View Along the Way!
I realized late last night that I have never done a post on our living room. It is my favorite room in the house, but is really no where close to being complete.
We painted the living room a soft, warm Dorian Gray, by Sherwin Williams when we moved in in 2008.
Now
Before
(this is the only image I have of the living room before...can you believe it?)

You can see in the distance, it was originally a soft baby blue with light brown curtains and a HUGE wall mirror framed with molding.
We had the carpet throughout the house removed and the hardwood floors refinished. We then took the large mirror down, painted the walls and trim and took a trip to IKEA!
My husband and I had furniture, but we needed a few things to fill the house. So we borrowed a trailer shortly after we moved in and headed to Dallas for the weekend (the closest Ikea).
Where we picked up a few things to finish the room.

We still have a lot to do in there...the only project (other than painting) I've done in the living room was the ikat stencil pillow tutorial that I did for Design Sponge....so we still have ALOT to do...
Hopefully, I'll get around to working on this room soon, but even with everything it needs...it is still overall my favorite room in the house.
For now I'll keep working on the master bedroom changes....see you over at View Along the Way!

Your living room is so pretty and calm. I love the gray walls with pop of color on those amazing pillows!
ReplyDeleteYour living room is beautiful! You've incorporated so many of the elements that I've had in mind. Thanks for the inspiration...and also for commenting on my blog.
ReplyDeleteLove your living room Elizabeth. Why can't I convince my husband to get a white couch? I really think it's a great option but he's not on board AT ALL :( I'm going to send him your living room and tell him how great a white couch could be. Great job - love those pillows and the pretty snapdragons.
ReplyDeleteThat Ikea rug I wanted so bad! I love the colors. Unfortunately with 6 kids, I didn't want to deal with the white in the rug, lol.
ReplyDeleteYou living room looks so nice and cozy!
Looooove your pink touches. I wish my husband shared my love of pink. :)

ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful restful space! I feel like rushing out to Ikea right now-- except that it's rush hour in ATL and I'd be sitting in traffic for a while. :)
