Right now I am on the hunt...on the hunt for two wingback chairs (actually if I could find more I'd take them). I think they are terrific. Wingbacks are so versatile, they fit in with any decor, contemporary, traditional, it doesn't matter. A couple years I ALMOST inherited two from my parents....no such luck. The other day I was so close. I could have passed out when I walked through the parking lot at Goodwill and saw a man was tying a beautiful (well, beautiful if it had been reupholstered or had a slip cover) $35.00 wingback chair in the back of his truck, I wanted to cry! For now I guess I'll keep my eye on craigslist and goodwill....
My dream is to slip cover them in white and cozy them up to the fireplace in our living room, flanking either side. At the moment, we have two sofas, but I think wingbacks would be so dreamy.....
Anyway, enjoy the inspiration....I just stopped in to take a break from some big projects I'm working on...hoping the big reveal will be ready next week, with some tutorials.
Look how versatile:
Love , love, love this! One of my all time favorite interior photos.

How do you feel about wingbacks? Like them, love them, hate them? What kind of fabric would you use on yours?

Love Love Love them - particularly white ones or
ReplyDeletea great zebra print. The first kitchen was beautiful. Private note: Ask to speak to the manager at Goodwill and tell her you want two or more wing chairs, give her your card plus a little money for her time and effort, and the phone call. You have the greatest rooms!
i wish i could say that i love them. Actually, i love them in pictures and hotels, but honestly they do not say cozy to me. my In-laws have a wingback chair in both their formal living room and family room. It is not so fun watching a movie sitting up right the whole time with no option for reclining or foot resting.
ReplyDeleteI didn't realize how versatile they could actually be! I LOVE them as a duo with a conversational/tea table in the middle...mini work space/reading nook/etc. I also LOVE that bookcase in the greenish room!
ReplyDeleteL-o-v-e them. really. I love them as end chairs for the dining room if you have room, or as room accents in pretty much any rooms. Depending on the mood, something graphic and bright can really intensify their look.
ReplyDeleteJust came across your blog, and am following now! Great job with it, can't wait to look at more.
I saw the most amazing wingbacks being sold at a thrift store not long ago. It was a gorgeous pair. I would've bought them with nowhere to put them.
