I am not going to lie, ours is an absolute DISASTER!
It has not been painted, I think, since the 1950's when the house was built.
It still has the original linoleum flooring, which is peeling.
But of course, when we moved in, the laundry room was in no way shape or form the top priority.
So it is official...I have started the make over and it is coming along....slowly.
Inspiration for the makeover...

This is where we started...
Please don't judge me for my non-matching washer and dryer
Clearing things out
Starting the first coat of paint
Stenciling
The progress is slow but steady, I would love to have it finished by Tuesday
to show you Wednesday, no promises.
I will keep you posted!

I am excited to say, this month most of my time has been devoted to blog design and e-design projects. I just finished installing a new blog design for Amanda this morning.
She has an etsy shop 401s, where she sells handmade jewelry and accessories
and wanted a fresh new look for her blog.

it looks sooooo great so far! I love the color and the stencil you chose! And who cares if the washer and dryer don't match :) It's gonna look so great when you are finished that you won't even notice!!! Love it!!
ReplyDeleteOh my!!! This is going be really good...can't wait to see your final reveal. And you had some nice structure in there to begin with - were those existing shelves there when you moved in? I'd love to have some shelving like that. Nice work so far.
ReplyDeleteyay! that is going to look so awesome!!! love the fun colors you are using. i would actually WANT to do laundry. wow.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh it's fantastic...can't wait to see what is next. Believe me I am not in a position to judge anyone on their laundry room. Mine is in my basement, unfinished ceiling and cement floor. I share it with lots of spiders and everything in our house we don't know what to do with. Looking forward to the final reveal!
ReplyDeleteSo far, this is looking really fantastic! I love the color and the stencil that you picked. I am sure it will be so beautiful when it's all finished and done. Looking forward to the big reveal!

Looks great so far! Can't way to see the finished room.
ReplyDeleteLooks great so far! I really like the color and stencil design. Can't wait to see it all finished!
ReplyDeleteLooks great Elizabeth! I don't think your laundry is so bad. I love the shelves. That stencil is great since it looks so much like a wall paper. Are you going to tile the floor or put down something else?
ReplyDeleteI would love to have even your original laundry room, and the finished one will be amazing I'm sure. My laundry is under our old house so it's full of pipes, concrete floors, bare floorboards for a ceiling and boarded up windows at this stage! You definately made the right choice with the stencil design - looks great!
ReplyDeleteYou're off to a great start. Is stenciling an allover pattern hard? I want to try it myself but fear I'll botch it. How do you keep the pattern level vertically and horizontally? Hope you give us the scoop!
ReplyDeleteElizabeth, it looks great! And, I love the color of green you chose!!
ReplyDeleteAwesome awesome awesome! Can't wait to see it finished!
ReplyDeleteThe stencil is absolutely beautiful... it must take a lot of patience to get it to look so perfect. I'm completely impressed!
ReplyDeleteLooking good! I love the stencil, and can't wait to see the next step!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great! I've been fretting over our laundry room lately too. If it makes you feel any better ours has spackled drywall, no trim and absolutely no permanent storage... and our washer and dryer don't match either. :) Can't wait to see this finished!
ReplyDeleteOh wow thats a lot of work but its going to be worth it, it will almost make doing the washing a fun experience! You have inspired me to do something different with my dreary laundry room!
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Michelle
EEEEEE!!! That is a super duper excited squeal for your laundry room! It is going to be fantastical...I'm excited (could you tell??? I know, I'm so coy). Can't wait to see the finished product!
ReplyDeleteIt looks amazing so far! Can't wait to see it all finished! I love the idea of a fun laundry room! Mine is boring (with a capital B)!
ReplyDeletetotally loving!! Can't wait to see the finished product!
ReplyDeleteWow, I'm so flattered my little collection of images helped inspire your project. I adore that wallpaper and am working on a project with it also. I can't wait to see how yours turns out!
ReplyDeleteI cannot wait! Love how it's looking. I have had a stencil for the laundry room on my list for months. Has it been hard?! My laundry room is pretty big with a 20 ft long wall... so... yeah... don't want to bite off more than I can chew necessarily.
ReplyDeleteLOVE it.......it's going to be awesome!
ReplyDeleteI have that same picture (source #2) in my house idea book. I love that for a laundry room or mud room. So much light.
ReplyDeleteGreat job on your laundry room. Very nice.
