SLAM...Short Curtains are still out!

SLAM 22/ BAM 5

A trend that I have noticed floating through the design world lately is the use of wood paneling.

It has been added to ceilings, walls, kitchen islands. It has been used both in its natural form, and painted...but one thing is for sure, it adds an element of character and texture to a space.

    BAM! I love the texture the paneling adds and beadboard is the only way I like white walls.

    Total BAM! Love the repurposed feel of the wood paneling. It looks like it has been somewhere and could tell great stories. The texture and earthiness it brings is second to none. Love!

    Total bam for me! That's actually what we're doing in our bathroom reno. We're painting ours a creamy white. Can't wait till it's done:)

    BAM! The texture gives the room a certain depth that catches the eye. It adds just the right amount of BAM to any room :).

    Total BAM! I have a client right now that we are installing the washed wood paneling on the ceiling of the master bedroom- its going to be sooo beautiful! But in hinds sight if I were to do it over I would recommend using wood flooring for the ceiling- its already stained & distressed -ready to install.

    I have floor to ceiling tounge and groove paneling in my family room. The generation that built houses think it's a sin to paint...thankfully I am NOT from that generation so I had no problem slapping paint on the walls...it did take 5 years to convince the husband...BAM!!

    Hafta say that I'm glad that the short curtains lost out. I suppose they serve a practical purpose in some spaces, but I'm just not a fan.

    Paneling however... YES! As long as it's not the stained stuff from the 70s. :)

    I love it! Though when you hear wood paneling I immediately think of the dark brown stuff in my parents living room. The white is so bright and homey! BAM!

    BAM, surprisingly. I really love it when it's hung horizontally because it looks unconventional and not at all like a 70's paneling nightmare of yore! :)

    I'm a fan...it is actually pretty versatile, the natural finishes can have such a rustic look, while the painted white is polished but a little laid back...love it!

    BAM! (anyone else feel like emeril?) love 'em. always have. adds texture, can be painted. and then sanded...and painted again.
