SLAM...Short Curtains are still out!
SLAM 22/ BAM 5
A trend that I have noticed floating through the design world lately is the use of wood paneling.
It has been added to ceilings, walls, kitchen islands. It has been used both in its natural form, and painted...but one thing is for sure, it adds an element of character and texture to a space.
Are you a fan?

BAM or SLAM!?
BAM or SLAM!?
BAM for me!! Dying for a white wood panelled ceiling in my kitchen. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Tuesday!
Heidi @ Show some Decor
BAM for me too! Have you seen Elliott's room? I couldn't love the recycled barn boards any more than I do!
ReplyDeleteBAM! I love the texture the paneling adds and beadboard is the only way I like white walls.
ReplyDeleteTotal BAM! Love the repurposed feel of the wood paneling. It looks like it has been somewhere and could tell great stories. The texture and earthiness it brings is second to none. Love!
ReplyDeleteDefinite BAM! And another boy's room to check out: http://www.bowerpowerblog.com/2010/02/nursery-news-accent-wall/
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to do this somewhere in my house!
I like me some texture - a definite BAM!!
ReplyDeleteTotal bam for me! That's actually what we're doing in our bathroom reno. We're painting ours a creamy white. Can't wait till it's done:)
ReplyDeleteBam if used in the right places!
ReplyDeleteised in the right way then BAM!
ReplyDeleteBAM! The texture gives the room a certain depth that catches the eye. It adds just the right amount of BAM to any room :).
ReplyDeleteTotal BAM! I have a client right now that we are installing the washed wood paneling on the ceiling of the master bedroom- its going to be sooo beautiful! But in hinds sight if I were to do it over I would recommend using wood flooring for the ceiling- its already stained & distressed -ready to install.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE IT! It adds so much texture and depth in a room and with exposed brick....pleeeease....I'm dying here.
ReplyDeleteWell duh I say BAM! Have you seen our living and dining room!? ;) LOVE IT!
ReplyDeleteI have floor to ceiling tounge and groove paneling in my family room. The generation that built houses think it's a sin to paint...thankfully I am NOT from that generation so I had no problem slapping paint on the walls...it did take 5 years to convince the husband...BAM!!
ReplyDeleteHafta say that I'm glad that the short curtains lost out. I suppose they serve a practical purpose in some spaces, but I'm just not a fan.
ReplyDeletePaneling however... YES! As long as it's not the stained stuff from the 70s. :)
Bam!
ReplyDeleteI love it! Though when you hear wood paneling I immediately think of the dark brown stuff in my parents living room. The white is so bright and homey! BAM!
ReplyDeleteMajor bam!! for me! Wood paneling instantly adds warmth and style to a room. I am all for it!!!
ReplyDeleteMajor BAM!!! Love, love, love it!
ReplyDeleteBAM, surprisingly. I really love it when it's hung horizontally because it looks unconventional and not at all like a 70's paneling nightmare of yore! :)
ReplyDeleteBAM from me! Absolutely love it!
ReplyDeleteBam for me! It's come a long way since the 70s, and can add so much texture to a room. :)
ReplyDeleteBAM! But only painted white and only positioned horizontally :)
ReplyDeleteBAM! Absolutely!
ReplyDeleteI love its texture and charm, especially when it's "old" and/or roughed up for an aged patina!
Catherine
A qualified BAM! Especially love horizontal planks of real wood! Either naturally weathered or white. BTW, I just love this series!
ReplyDeleteBAM! I love the texture!
ReplyDeleteBAM! BAM! and BAM! I want it somewhere, anywhere, I love it on ceilings!
ReplyDeleteBam! Though I do wonder if we'll be seeing it in the next 10 years.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a bam for me! I especially love it painted white.
ReplyDeleteI want to use it to cover our gross textured ceilings! BAM!
ReplyDeleteIt's a bam for me. Love the texture it provides.
ReplyDeleteBam for all the character it brings to a space! Even 70s faux paneling looks great painted white.
ReplyDeleteit's a big ole bam! love it!
ReplyDeleteIt's a natural element and it is versatile so definitely a Bam..and so much character, as you said.
ReplyDeleteIt's a total BAM for me - unless it's that gross orangey knotty pine - then definitely SLAM.
ReplyDeleteI'm a fan...it is actually pretty versatile, the natural finishes can have such a rustic look, while the painted white is polished but a little laid back...love it!
ReplyDeleteI am a fan of wood paneling done right! Especially old reclaimed wood...so so pretty!
ReplyDeleteHuge BAM! I absolutely love it! Saw it first in this home and fell in love.
